Volunteer
There are lots of different ways to contribute as a volunteer in our social work – from practical tasks in daily operations and socializing with guests to legal counselling and gardening.
Volunteers are the backbone in our social work as well as our shops. They carry out the tasks of our different workplaces in cooperation with the paid staff. Most volunteers work 4-6 hours weekly or biweekly, but you can work both more and less than that.
As a volunteer you can contribute on a wide spectrum of different tasks, depending on what fits you best personally and professionally. Many volunteers work in daily operations – e.g. shopping, cooking, cleaning, handing out clothes, driving and coordination of services and events – alongside so-called relational work, that is socializing and connecting with the guests. Most locations have activites managed by volunteers, e.g. dinners, creative workshops, activities for children, trips, etc.
You'll be able to bring into play your interests, professional skills and experience within many areas, e.g. language, teaching, psychology, social science, law, journalism, crafts etc.
